Celebrate Life Anytime: Gentle sparkling for the silly season

Celebrate Life Anytime: Gentle sparkling for the silly season

December 2, 2025Darren Baguley

December turns up the intensity on everything: heat, calendars, expectations. The trick is not to strip the joy out—it’s to make more room for it. We keep the bottle ritual and simply change the effect: different, not less.

At Widden Brook Farm we bottle‑ferment Elderflower Mist Sparkling with flowers, spring water and time. Our 2024 vintage Classic sits around 2.2% ABV; Crimson Delight and Wild Mountain Hop around 3.0% ABV. That gives you the pop, the pour and the sparkle in the glass without overdoing the alcohol.

Taste first

Classic pours bright and refreshing—citrus, ginger, lemongrass. Crimson brings a rose‑family glow with a musk rose/guava/lychee/ginger hint when the season lands just so. Wild Mountain Hop brings caramel, ginger and an earthiness that quenches on a hot day. All three love a long table and a slow afternoon.

Five ways to stay bright through silly season

1. Glassware parity. A beautiful glass for every guest—whatever’s inside it.
2. Keep it cold. Chill upright; pour Classic well‑chilled; add a mint sprig to Crimson.
3. Pair simply. Classic × prawns and crisp salads; Crimson × mezze and grilled salmon.
4. Plan the morning. Choose lightly alcoholic pours so tomorrow’s swim or walk still sounds good.
5. Gift gently. A 3‑pack brings brightness (Classic) and colour (Crimson) to any table.

The gift that feels like a breather

Wrap our Trio with linen and a handwritten note. It’s celebratory without being heavy—perfect for hosts, neighbours and the friend who’s hosting brunch.

ABV clarity

We always show Alcohol By Volume (ABV) and standard drinks on our labels so people can choose what suits them.

This vintage: Classic \~2.2% ABV (≈\~1.3 standard drinks/750 mL); Crimson \~3.0% ABV (≈\~1.8/750 mL). Contains alcohol.

Keep the sparkle. Keep tomorrow in the plan. Keep the ritual. Go lighter.
