Why What We Make Matters: Help Shape the NoLo Future

November 6, 2025Darren Baguley

At Widden Brook Farm we bottle for people who love the ritual of a beautiful drink — and the clarity that follows. Alongside the hands-on work of growing, fermenting, and sharing, we also care deeply about learning from the people who drink (and don’t drink) NoLo.

This research began as part of Shireen’s honours thesis at Charles Sturt University, and now continues as part of an ongoing study exploring how Australians engage with no- and low-alcohol (NoLo) drinks. The goal is to understand what truly shapes our choices — from flavour and provenance to purpose and ritual — as we move toward more mindful ways of drinking.

Why your voice matters
Real preferences often surprise the industry. By sharing your perspective, you help build a clearer picture of what mindful making means to real people — insight that can ripple across farming, craft, and the future of how we drink together.
